After you become a Christian...

After you become a Christian...

After you become a Christian you might hope you will be saved and that will be the end of it. After you become a Christian you might want to go back to the life you are used too. After becoming a Christian you might think life will be easier. but that's not what's going to happen. Oh no, Its going to get harder. A few months ago I was struggling and I asked myself this question "why did I become a christian?" this one question that seemed so easy became so hard. There is always going to be sometime in your life when you ask this question. Theirs always going to be one time in your life when you feel like giving up. It would be so easy just to give up your faith to turn your back on God, I can tell you I have thought about it before. In Mathew 7:13-14 it says "enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way to destruction, and their are many who go in by it. because narrow is the gate, and difficult the way which leads to life, and their are few who find it." so in these very words of Jesus he says that the way to death is easy. but the way to life is hard and their are few who go through with it. There are many people who go through the difficult path which leads to life but I have seen many people though they start off on the right path, they end up on the wrong path. So be careful which way you go.

Now after becoming a christian, you may have started the right way. Reading your bible, praying everyday. But over time, life overwhelms you and you find no time to pray or read your bible. And your excuse is this "I've been to busy" busy with what? busy with life. Yes to some it may be a reasonable excuse. I know there are many times I am busy with life. Theirs cooking, cleaning, school, kids and whatever things you have. There are many things in life that keep us busy. But over time I realised that being busy was no excuse, and I as I looked over my day I realised this... every time i try to get time to read the bible or spend time with God. I see something else that needs to be done. And every time I choose to do that instead of spending time with the Lord I am letting the devil win. One of the devils tricks is making us so busy so that we have no time to spend with our God. Because every time we spend time with the Lord by reading the bible, praying. We remind the devil about all that he lost. The one thing the Devil wants for us, is for us to suffer. and he wants more anything to stop us from spending time with the Lord. So next time you feel tired but still have time on your hands stand up and take down that bible and do not let the devil win.

As new christians it's easy to fall away. Do not let the devil weaken you, when you become a new Christian. It starts a hard time in your life full of trials, because you are new in christ, it's your time to learn and thrive. You are in your early stage of being a christian, this is not a bad thing. It is actually a very good thing the more you spend time with the Lord the more you grow. When Jesus went and gathered his disciples he taught them before he sent them out to preach to others. This is your time to grow and prepare yourself for whatever amazing plans the Lord has for you! But this is also a very hard time in your life. You are still building your faith and still are preparing yourself and the devil know this. And will try everything he can to make you drift away. He reminds you about all your mistakes, he tempts you with things you used to love drugs, alcohol and any other things you used to love. He try's harder and harder. And it pains me to say that many fall into the devils trap. I pray that you will stay strong and never let the devils lies stop you from spending eternal life with our saviour!

So all I can tell you as your sister in christ is this... Look to the Lord for he watches over his children. In psalms 121:3 it says "He will not let your foot slip; he who watches over you will not slumber" watch carefully, guard your ways, I can promise you in the end. It will all be worth it!
