How to become a Christian

If you have decided to take the leap then I am so happy for you! I can promise you that being a Christian is an amazing thing! but also hard, I have learnt that over my years of being a christian. But I can tell you it is worth every trial and I praise the Lord that I am able to share this with you!

If you are deciding to be a Christian it means you have answered the question in Mathew 16:15 'Jesus asked his disciples, "who do you say I am?" and if you haven't answered this question I invite you to take a moment to think about it. everyone at one point in their life must answer this question, I have answered it and now you must answer it yourself.

Now just to make sure we both are on the same page I am going to ask you the a million dollar question; have you ever lied? have you ever stolen? I know I have and romans 3:23 it says this "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." now you may think well I've only broken one of the smaller ones, I would have had to broke the bigger ones to go to hell. but that is not true in James 2:10 it states differently "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." in these words if you break at least one law you are guilty of all. And then in romans 6:23 it tells us what the penalty is for our sins, it says this "For the wages of sin is death" so in Gods own words he says that if we sin we must pay by death

Now that's not what you want to hear, but this is the good part. in 1 corinthians 15:3 it says this "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures," so in these words Jesus died and took our sins on the cross in John 3:16 it answers it all with this "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." so in these words God sent his son so he would die, so that you and me can live and go to heaven instead of die. And so if you say with your mouth Jesus is Lord you will be saved.

Now finally I'm going to answer your question 'how to become a christain' romans 10:9 sums it up pretty well this is what it says " If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

So to make it simple. You must believe that Jesus is Lord and that he died on the cross for your sins. And then you must pray to him and tell him all your sins and say sorry. And ask him to be in your life and tell him you want to follow him all the rest of your life. It's as simple as that. And if you have never prayed before don't worry. Just talk to him like you would talk to someone very close to you. He would never judge you by your prayer, it's more likely he will laugh with joy that you have chosen him over the world. He loves you! And he loves it when his children talk to him and come back to him. So take the step, and don't let anything hold you back. For me I would give everything for him my family, my life, my friends. I can promise you, He will never let you down. HE IS WORTH IT ALL!!!!
