TO ALL THE TEENS
As a teenager, we face all kinds of challenges.
Some seem normal for us others can be a little self conscience and maybe our parents don’t even know what we are facing.
We see other teens everywhere having fun, they are popular, they have boyfriends, they have a phone and a cool fancy car.
But then there is us and we have never had a boyfriend (mainly because our parents would kill us if we did), we aren’t allowed a phone and we don’t have the finances for a fancy car.
And it can feel like we live in a different planet and we don’t fit in here. And it can be emberassing.
Then in comes our faith. Being a teenager is hard enough but a christian teen?… thats even tougher.
Maybe no one knows your a christian and you brush it off, it seems like the easiest thing to do right? And we are able to avoid the mocking and teasing and bullying.
But have you ever thought what God wants from you? You might say no not really, I don’t really want to know.
I can totally understand such an answer, because I have been there. Once I was in a tough position and someone asked me if I had asked God what he wanted and my answer was uh I will, but I don’t want to hear what he has to say.
I was afraid he was going to tell me something I didn’t want to hear,
I think everyone has been in a situation similar to mine at least once.
But back to the question have you ever thought what God wanted?
I certainly have.
You might have or you might have not, you might be in the position where you want to know what God wants but you are not sure what that is.
Well let me tell you a story.
When I first started making God the first priority in my life, it was the best decision I had ever made but it was hard. You probably very well know people don’t like when we are different so being a christian isn’t exactly a smooth road.
But I choose to take it.
I was sick of life having no purpose, I had asked God into my life, I had a relationship with him but I wanted more.
I wanted meaning in my life, I wanted to change the world!
But I was stuck, what did God want from me? I often had ideas but none of them ever turned out and I was getting frustrated.
That is until I saw the bible verse in mark. Mark 16:15, it said "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation".
There was my answer! God wanted me to tell others about what God had done in me! And that changed evetrything.
I still believe there is more God wants from me but well I wait to see what it is I will go preach the good news of the gospel.
We don’t need to be a religious frantic, all we have to do is go and be jesus.
And when I mean be Jesus. I mean copy his example.
If you see someone sitting alone at lunch, invite that person to eat lunch with you, if someone falls help them up! That makes a bigger difference then you think!
And the more you do this the more you will step into Gods purpose for your life.
So go out spread the good news and change the world!
